Premise
Guy Ritchie's second foray into quirky multiple-character-multiple-storyline crime capers genre.
Who should watch
Those in the mood for style over substance.
Thoughts
This reminded me of those musicians that release a blockbuster second album, because it is a polished version of the first album. The musicians eliminated the bad parts and exploited the good stuff from the first album. Since it was only the second album, the public does not consider it 'been there heard that' and the band explodes in popularity and praise.
In 'Snatch', Guy Ritchie eliminated any slow moments that plagued 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and overpopulated the story with offbeat characters getting stuck in bizarre situations and amped up the music video style. I know this sounded like a criticism, but I had a blast with this film.
It was full of eye candy with Ritchie's over-the-top visual style and editing. There was plenty of star power with Brad Pitt, Benicio Del Toro, Jason Statham, Vinnie Jones, Dennis Farina and a cute dog. All the characters, scenes and dialogue were quirky and goofy without being annoying.
In the end, it was a fun to watch film. But I could see myself getting tired of his kind of movies really quick.
What I would change
Nothing.
