Premise
A man finds out he is the character of a famous author's next masterpiece.

Who should watch
Anyone looking for a different kind of comedy.

Thoughts
Not great, but good. I liked the premise and the movie was mostly unique.

Along with 'Elf', Will Ferrell proves that he can do non-Will Ferrell movies. He even managed to squeeze some emotion out of me. Maggie Gyllenhaal was cute and likeable and Emma Thompson nearly steals the show. Unfortunately Queen Latifah and Dustin Hoffman's character could have been played by anyone. Actually, he does do some funny, subtle stuff with coffee.

Despite this good stuff, it is vastly underwhelming when compared to 'Truman Show' or 'Adaptation'. It lacked an 'oomph' factor to make it unforgettable.

What I would change
Tried a non-Hollywood ending.
