Premise
Hitchcock pulls the rug under you, again.
Who should watch
Alfred Hitchcock fans. Psychological thriller fans.
Thoughts
'Vertigo' was arguably Hitchcock's greatest film.
Halfway into the film, I hated everything about it. I was watching a ridiculous supernatural horror movie about a man afraid of heights. Nothing made sense. Then James Stewart's character became institutionalized...
Suddenly, everything went upside-down. I was transported into an unexpectedly dark, insanely awesome world of madness. All the clues made sense. Once again, I had to bow down to Hitchcock's greatness in surprise and manipulation. Not only was this his greatest film, this was James Stewart's greatest as as well. I loved his darkest and most complex performance.
What I would change
Nothing.
