Premise
A potion capable of making a mutant permanently human sparks a war of humans versus mutants.
Who should watch
Fans of the movie franchise or comics.
Thoughts
Even though it was the worst of the trilogy, it was still a decent comic book movie. The strength was also one of its weaknesses: too many characters. While it was cool to see certain characters get their five minutes of screen time and allowed more special effect mayhem, it took time away from the characters that mattered.
It felt like a sequel that went the wrong direction because of a change to inferior writers and director, which it was. I admired its bravery of adding finality to the franchise by letting crap hit the fan. However, it just felt wrong. What was sad was the misuse of all the cool stuff set up from the second movie.
What I would change
Movie: Convinced Bryan Singer to come back.
Franchise: Instead of such a finale, I would've just continued the franchise like the comic books, in which you only focus on a different group of mutants for each adventure under the name of X-Men. Characters come and go all the time, why not here? This allows flexibility for the studios and the actors, while giving audiences something new each time around.
