Premise
A mother-daughter duo cons men out of their money.
Who should watch
Fans of the eclectic cast. Those who like movies about manipulative women.
Thoughts
It was a lot of fun. It could have been a sequel to 'The Last Seduction', if she had a daughter.
As a straight guy, it was worth it just watching Jennifer Love Hewitt running around in the skimpiest outfits this side of gratuitous. Sigourney Weaver was quite good looking too.
Anyways, back to the film. The film had the perfect tone of dark comedy. One of my favorites was the opening shot of Florida, in which a duck is devoured by an alligator. I had fun watching these two women using their brains and body to take advantage of hapless guys. The comedy involving their seductions were smartly written and perfectly executed by the cast.
This was a perfect cast. Gene Hackman was hilarious as a senile old man. So too was Ray Liotta as a Ray Liotta-like scumbag out for revenge. In addition, I loved the cameos by Carrie Fisher and the late, great Anne Bancroft, who had played some well-known manipulative women characters in her career.
My only problem was that it wandered dangerously to chick flick and slapstick territory in the middle. Thankfully, Ray Liotta's character saved the day.
What I would change
Less slapstick and removed the sappiness. Then it would have been a great 90 minute dark comedy with a story tighter than Jennifer Love Hewitt's skirts.
