Premise
A documentary about the emergence of the dance style, krumping.
Who should watch
Fans of dance. Those who feel cornered with no release.
Thoughts
The film was worthy seeing simply for the mind-blowing dancing. As the disclaimer pointed out, the tape was never sped up. These kids could move that fast. It was absolutely entertaining watching something exciting, emotional, chaotic, aggressive and inspiring.
As the whole, the film told a good story. A story about a man who helped find a way for American inner kids to express themselves and avoid gangs. Similar to 'Dirty Dancing', krumping became a way to deal and transform their hardships and frustrations into something therapeutic and positive. We got to see the origins of krumping as well as an intense dance battle.
What I would change
The scientist in me would have liked some exploration on what it took to prepare such a dance. How much was choreographed? How much was improvised? Was there a method to the madness?
