Premise
A young South African boy raises an orphaned cheetah, and decides to return him back to the wild.
Who should watch
Kids who are not afraid of some wild animals and danger.
Thoughts
This was a good adventure film for the family, especially with older kids.
What I liked best about the film was the beautiful cinematography of African landscapes, and the stunning animal training. I have no idea if computers helped put cheetah and human actors together, but it looked mighty genuine. Seeing a cheetah running at full speed was enthralling. So was watching a boy and cheetah survive in the wilderness.
I think kids would enjoy this film. It was part adventure, part National Geographic, and part story about friendships and accepting loss. I would also recommend enabling the subtitles, as some of the African accents were a little difficult to understand.
What I would change
Some parts of it felt implausible, but I'll let that slide.
