Premise
Part of ESPN's 30 for 30 series, Steve Nash co-directs a film about Terry Fox, a 21-year old cancer patient with an amputated leg who ran across Canada to raise awareness.
Loved
The compelling story.
Thoughts
One of the most emotional entries in the series.
The story was touching and riveting. I felt like I got to really know Fox, thanks to interviews with friends and family, and tons of footage of his run. It was also educational, as it highlighted the ups and downs of the actual 5000 mile trek. For me, scenes of a crowd clapping for a singular person always gave me goosebumps. To see it happen in real life on actual footage, made it very hard to keep the tears in.
My nitpick would be the flashy editing transitions. They were totally unnecessary for such a compelling story.
What I would change
Less flashy transitions.
