Premise
A half-shark, half-octopus goes on a killing spree at Mexican resorts.
Liked
Eric Roberts, Ralph Garman.
Disliked
How boring it was.
Thoughts
I found it to be OK schlock.
The computer graphics was at times better than expected, as apparently the sharktopus is capable of walking on land. Eric Roberts hammed it up very well. As expected, there was plenty of bikini-clad babes, as well as bloody human carnage, done with cheeky style. Lastly, as a fan of Ralph Garman from KROQ, it was fun watching him quote his famous line, "Damn you, Sharktopus!".
Truth be told, I was never a big fan of B movies, so as hard as I tried to ignore the predictable plot, the stiff acting, and implausible story, eventually, I started to get bored, and wished it to end quickly. While the CGI was pretty good for its budget, as a savvy movie watcher, it bugged me that the special effects looked so obvious.
Due to the premise, the Roger Corman lineage, and Garman's casting, I really wanted to like it. Sadly, even with semi-low expectations, it was not consistently entertaining enough.
What I would change
Shorten it by 10 minutes.
