Premise
John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale star as two strangers attempting to reconnect in New York after a chance encounter many years ago.

Liked
Cusack and Jeremy Piven's performances.

Thoughts
The only thing I found tolerable was Cusack and Piven. It was good to see them onscreen again, and they delivered some funny moments. I assumed he took this role for the money, but Cusack was rarely on autopilot, creating an interesting, charming character.

Unfortunately, the rest of the movie was forgettable and silly, even for a rom-com. The premise could have worked if the entire plot was not a parade of impossible-to-accept coincidences and missed encounters. The lovely Beckinsale lacked much charm for me to root for her character in such a torturous labyrinth of a story. Also, the unfair subplots of both of them being engaged in their pursuit of each other was borderline creepy.

Unless you ran out of romantic comedies to watch, I recommend skipping this one for better titles.

What I would change
Not sure.
