The zombie comedy.

Thoughts
Based on trailers, I thought this was an American-wannabe of Shaun of the Dead. Turns out I was wrong. In fact, in certain ways it was better. If I recall, most of the comedy from the British film was about the character's cluelessness about zombies. Here the comedy derived from living in a world overrun by zombies.

I definitely laughed out out a lot. There were a lot of zombie-related jokes, such as a rulebook on avoiding them, and finding creative, grotesque ways of killing them. I appreciated the creativity in twisting horror cliches and some of the pop culture references.

The cast was charming, consisting of of Harrelson, Eisenberg, the cute Emma Stone, and the adorable Abigail Breslin. I enjoyed how Harrelson's and Breslin's characters didn't know Hannah Montana and Bill Murray, respectively.

Speaking of Murray, much was hyped about his appearance, and he did not disappoint. It had a definitive arc, was as much a tribute to his genius as it was a cameo, kept the comedy momentum going, and was funny throughout. One of the best cameos in recent memory.

My only gripe was that somehow I always knew the quartet would never be in true danger. Mainly because it rarely felt like a horror flick, more like an action-comedy in a zombiefied setting. But oh well, it was a light-hearted (though tastefully violent) comedy, so I cannot complain too much about a Hollywood ending.

More funny than scary, it was full inventive moments, funny dialogue, and likable characters. I admit that my first impression of the film was incorrect, and I regret not watching it earlier.

What I would change
Nothing.

A bit of unintentional comedy when Eisenberg's character uttered a line about FaceBook.
