Premise
Weirdo director David Lynch's tale about an actress who stumbles upon an amnesiac in her Los Angeles apartment.

Liked
The offbeat moments, the effort to make something unique.

Hated
The incoherent narrative.

Thoughts
I tried my best to be open-minded, but was just too long and full of hooey.

There was some good stuff. For example, I really liked Naomi Watts and Laura Herring's acting. My inner twelve-year old boy enjoyed the titillating lesbian scene. There was many funny offbeat moments, like the hitman failing to coverup his killings, or the director finding out his wife is cheating on him with pool boy Billy Ray Cyrus.

This was my first time watching a David Lynch film. And I admit his directorial style was unique and impressive. He skillfully played with the audience's eyes, ears, and mind.

Having said that, this movie made no sense to me. I like weird films. I like movies that encourage interpretation. I could tell there were some interesting themes about dreams, fantasy/reality and identity, but Lynch's intentionally confusing mind-games for two and a half hours was just too much for any reasonably smart moviegoer to sit through and try to put the ever-morphing puzzle pieces together.

I appreciated Lynch's skills, his ambitions, and his uncompromising vision for this movie. What I did not appreciate was getting a headache from it.

What I would change
