Thoughts
It was pretty cute and some funny moments.
What stood out the most was Maximus, one of the most ridiculous horses in the history of cinema. As for the other characters, they had their moments of silly cartoony comedy. Mandy Moore's Rapunzel was surprisingly convincing in energy and cuteness, and her hair was visually fun, especially in 3D.
The story and music were solid, though not memorable.
One problem I had was Rapunzel's captor/mother character. Granted she was the antagonist in the story, but instead of being evil or likable, she just came off as creepy. Another problem was that Rapunzel's hair gimmick felt underutilized, not just visually, but as part of the story. With some more creativity, her long locks could have been a character of its own.
At times, it was at Disney's charming best. Pity the movie makers did not know how to take advantage of the good stuff to make a higher quality film.
What I would change
Done more with Rapunzel's hair.
