Premise
Steve Carell and Tina Fey star as a boring couple who stumble into a crime conspiracy.
Liked
The charming leads.
Disliked
The silly story.
Thoughts
The best part was Carell and Fey. Not only did they pull off some funny performances in action sequences, but they were even funnier in the married couple entrenched in routine stuff. Apparently, they did some improvisation, and you can see some of their outtakes during the credits.
While the rest of the cast was full of recognizable people, most of their appearances were forgettable or talents wasted. Best of the rest went to Mark Wahlberg, James Franco and Milas Kunas. Watching William Fichtner doing comedy was a little jarring.
As expected, the action scenes were forgettable (except the bizarre car-sandwich), the characters acted illogically, and the storylines were silly and unoriginal. At least the movie makers knew how to get out in 90 minutes before boring the audience.
It was a decent action-comedy, thanks to some funny moments and two very charming leads. The premise was promising, but in the end all that talent felt wasted.
What I would change
Less subplots, more Carell and Fey.
