Premise
A documentary about Renee Richards, a transsexual who played in Women's Tennis U.S. Open in the late 1970's.

Liked
The subplot of Renee's son.

Thoughts
Overall it was a good documentary with a very interesting subject.

Director Eric Drath did a good job of telling the story with footage and interviews.  It was neutral pretty much all the way, and the documentary kept everything, including some people's hesitations, fears, and disapprovals. For me what was most interesting was that Renee had left her five-year old son for her operation.  The film did not sugarcoat the cost of Renee's decisions and actions and its impact on her relationship with Nicholas.

I never knew about these events, so this was very educational for me.  While Renee the person was worth understanding, Renee the doc was more informative than entertaining.

What I would change
No idea.
