Thoughts
Once again, nothing beats the original, but for a sequel, this was still good.
It goes without saying that Bruce Willis kicked butt. One major change was that he had a sidekick. Although I prefer John McClane as a solitary hero, Samuel L. Jackson was a great choice. The black-white race jokes have been done before, but the writing was very funny and both know how to deliver them to great comedic effect.
What I liked was that each movie in the franchise tried to do something different with new settings and styles. In addition to the sidekick, a lot of the plot was riddle-solving. For those familiar with the original film, there were some nice references.
Because of Willis, Jackson, and the riddle-solving gimmick, this was a fun above-average action flick.
What I would change
No Reginald Vel Johnson cameo?
