Premise
Based on the novel, Will Smith is the last man on Earth as a virus turns all humans into vampire-zombies.

Who should watch
Will Smith fans.

Thoughts
This was an intense, interesting, but disjointed movie.

I liked the Will Smith scenes when his character attempts to survive the world on his own. David Alan Grier once jokingly called it 'Blackaway'. I wished the film was just about him being alone.

The movie felt like two films mashed together. The Will Smith scenes were artsy and enthralling. However, the other half of the movie was a slickly-produced horror movie, with top-notch motion-capture computer graphics. While they were well-rendered, and even given an implied social hierarchy, the bad guys felt like standard zombies.

I somewhat recommend this movie for the awesome special effects, especially the desolate New York City. A lot of hard work was put into it, but in the end, it was just okay.

What I would change
There was a curious scene near the end, in which the actions of a particular vampire-zombie implied that there was more to the story than shown. That half of the story might have been interesting. But I think the best thing would have been to just forsake these characters and just focus on Will Smith alone.

Random Observation
Will Smith needed a hairstylist for this movie?

Also, I liked the 'Justice League' movie product placement in one of the early scenes.
