Thoughts
This film made me laugh out loud with its strong writing and brilliant performances.

This had an amazing cast. Thanks to old school film making, every actor got a chance to shine. I was happy to see Paul Rudd get a chance at being the lead actor, and he hit it out of the park. Playing the fiance, Rashida Jones had the thankless job of being the sane one in the story, which she did with pizazz and sweetness. Also, she was just so beautiful to look at. J.K. Simmons appears to have cornered the dead-pan dad niche for a while. Jon Favreau nearly stole the show as the impatient, arguing husband of Jones' best friend. Last but not least, Jason Segel was hilarious as the best friend. I was afraid he was going to be a conventional weirdo, but in fact all the characters were believable and funny human beings.

This was a amazingly well-written story full of humor and heart. Not only was the dialogue delivering punch line after punch line, but the plot pulled an okie doke on me. Twice. First time was the 'friend borrowing money' cliche, and second time was the plot heading into chick-flick-ville. Both times, the film defied surprised me and maintained it comedic momentum.

I saw no flaws in the film, other than getting Rush' 'Tom Sawyer' song stuck in my head for the next few hours.

As much as I enjoy the recently dominating Apatow comedies, it was a breath of fresh air to laugh at humor grounded in typical human behavior. It almost felt like I was watching a play, with well-crafted dialogue and wonderful acting.

What I would change
Toned down Paul Rudd's awkwardness as he befriends Jason Segel. I sometimes cringed at the repetitive, forced dialogue of him messing up catchphrases or metaphors.
