Journey to the Center of the Earth (3D)

Premise
Brendan Fraser falls into the center of the Earth, a la Jules Verne, in 3D!

Who should watch
Those in the mood for a goofy adventure with some thrills.

Thoughts
I was entertained most of the time.

I could not imagine how lame this film would have been if I had watched it in regular 2D. On the other hand, when watching with 3D glasses, I could not help but smile with every gratuitous 3D scene of something flying straight at the audience for a scare or a laugh.

Most of the action had a good balance of silliness and excitement. I thought the swarm of jumping piranhas were most effective. Brendan Fraser was perfectly cast for such a goofy adventure. I excited to see the boy from 'Bridge to Terabithia' get another role, hopefully, his next will be more meaningful.

I think families with kids too young for 'Dark Knight' but too old for 'Kung Fu Panda' will enjoy this trip. As a fan of 3D movies, I was not disappointed.

What I would change
Get to the adventure stuff ten minutes quicker. I want random things flying at my face, not half-assed character development.
