Thoughts
Easily the cutest film of the year.
The pacing and animation quality were slightly modernized, but everything else was exactly how I expected a Pooh flick to be: adorable stuffed animals getting into silly predicaments to humorous effect, occasionally breaking the fourth wall in the book universe.
To be honest, I was rather surprised by the amount of comedy. My inner child and adult were both very much entertained and the film did not need to resort to snarky jokes, pop culture references nor innuendo. Best scene ever was Tigger converting Eeyore into "Tigger 2".
Another great reason to see this was voice over maestro Jim Cummings. Pretty much a legend from all the 1990's cartoon character he performed, he deftly channeled Sterling Holloway and Paul Winchell as Pooh and Tigger.
If there was something to nitpick, it was be that the music, while solid and apropos, was not as memorable compared to the high standard of Disney animated musical collection. Also, I wished it was longer than 63 minutes. But "too short" is always the lesser evil compared to "too long".
I highly recommend Winnie the Pooh for its adorableness, family-friendly entertainment, and great voice work.
What I would change
Nothing.
