Thoughts
I've never seen any of Tim and Eric's previous works. So if there was any inside jokes or running gags, I was obviously oblivious.
I guess the best compliment I can give this movie was that... it had its moments...
The best part was the wealth of cameos and comedic performances by said cameos. Of the numerous familiar faces, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Will Forte and Zach Galifianakis definitely brought the funny.
Comedy-wise, the movie was mostly full of irreverent, intentionally-bad, low-brow humor, which I assume was consistent with their previous works. For me, the over-the-top editing gags and silly death scenes made me laugh. The homo-erotic stuff felt cliched and the scatological coup-de-gras was a momentum killer that nearly made me quit.
I assume fans of the duo and this kind of comedy will enjoy Tim and Eric Billion Dollar Movie. The rest of us can just shrug and congratulate them on achieving the dream of getting their work onto the big screen. And move on to something else.
