That was a fun experience.
The story was very cute, and even though the main characters were robots, the film captured the innocence, naivety, and wonder of first love experiences. I definitely saw a little bit of mine in theirs.
Jonze created an inventive world in which humanoid robots lived "in harmony" with humans in modern time. They wore clothes, held jobs, and slept. I really liked the visual effects to create these characters. They did a great job of expressing emotions through the human-like, robotic eyes of the main character.
Based on the establishing shots, I bought into this world of robots and humans living together. However, I had trouble believing other logic in its universe. Mainly, why were male and female robots completely different shapes, and why couldn't robot citizens buy replacement parts?
This was the first time I had "attended" a digital film presented in a virtual theater. The interface of the site was eloquent yet fun. My issue with it was the "sold out" function. I had to wait a few weeks until seats were available. Perhaps it was a technological issue, or a joke about real life, either way, it was annoying. Also, I was not able to use this site with Firefox.
For 30 minutes, I got to watch a cute love story with likable characters for free in the comforts of my home (my PC is hooked to an HDTV as its monitor). Too bad I still had to wait in line.

Made it less of an advertisement for the Lost Trees band.

Gromit and Fluffles.

The story.
Thoughts
While it was good to see the lovable duo back in action, the story felt rather underwhelming.
Gromit was adorable as usual, and so was his unexpected love interest, the weak-at-the-knees Fluffles.
Disappointingly, A Matter of Loaf and Death lacked some creativity in the mystery. Only Fluffles was mildly interesting during the story, and everything else was rather predictable. The previous three entries of the franchise had interesting twists near the end, so this one paled in comparison.
As a fan, it was nice to see Wallace and Gromit onscreen again in something new, too bad the story-telling was not.
What I would change
Come up with a cooler reveal for the identity of the killer.
